Entrepreneurship skill development- Optical Splicing techniques in Fiber To The Home

The department of ECE in association with IIC, IEEE students chapter,IETE students forum ,IEI,ISTE has organized the one day entrepreneurship skill development program on Optical Splicing Techniques in Fiber To The Home on 27.03.2023. The event was Coordinated by Dr K Lakshmi Joshitha IIC Coordinator/Dept of ECE and Ms S Saranya,Asst professor,Dept of ECE.

The speakers were two among the students Mr Edward Akkash A and A Mohamed Nizamudeen of III ECE A. The speaker has the practical exposure on splicing of optical fibers and is currently doing the same with the BSNL as a part time work.

The event started at 10 AM in the smart classroom II with the invocation song,followed by the introductory note by the Talent enabler Dr K Sumathi,Professor,Dept of ECE. About 52 students attended in the morning.
The splicing machine was brought and the hands on training demonstration was done for the III ECE students following the As the final years are also associated with the photonics course about 50 of the final years were demonstrated with splicing procedures in the post lunch session.

It was very useful and many students were inspired by the practical exposure. This was an event of win-win condition as both the speaker and the listeners benefited greatly.
